Khilji Dynasty (1290-1320)

JALAL-UD-DIN FIRUZ SHAH-II

Name: Malik Firuz Khilji (Shayasta Khan)

Founder of Khilji Dynasty.

Born: An Afghan Khilji from the Hel- mand valley.

Father:Yughrush.

Enthroned: With the title Jalal-ud-din in 13 June 1290.

Died: 1296, assassinated by his nephew and son-in-law, Ala-ud-din Muhammad Shah-II

When Khusru Khan gone against last king Mubarak Shah of Khilji dynasty, than he (Khusru Khan) raised an army for himself and had the sultan assassinated. The following day he ascended the throne with the title Nasir-ud-din Khusru Shah (A.H 720-/ A.D 1320), thus ending the Khilji dynast of the Delhi sultanate, but Ghazi Tughluq, the governor of Dipalpur, was against Khusru Khan. The battle for Delhi keenly fought and it was Tughluq who emerged victorious: Khusru was captured and executed, he ascended the throne with the title Ghayath-ud-din Tughluq Shah in A.H 720 (A.D 1320) Thus started the Tughluq dynasty.
