1510-1961 A.D

Portuguese India was the aggregate of Portugal’s colonial holdings in India. The government started in 1505, six years after the discovery of sea route to India by Vasco da Gama, Portugal governed – either by a Viceroy or Governor – from its headquarters, established in Goa since 1510The territories of Portuguese India were sometimes referred to collectively as Goa. Portugal lost its enclaves Daman , Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, in 1954, and final Goa in December 1961.This resulted in the end of The Portugal rule in India.

DUTCH INDIA

(1605-1825)

Dutch India is the Dutch colonial possessions on the Indian subcontinent; Its capital was Cochin, on the Malabar coast. They established their factories from 1605 to 1825 at Masulipatnam, Pulicat, Vengurla, Tuticorin, Negapatnam and other places. This rule resulted in the end of 1825.

Danish East India Company

It was founded in 1616, and had its base in Tranquebar, Denmark sold it’s all settlements in mainland India in 1845 and the Danish Gold Coast to the British in 1850 and company was disappeared afterward.

The French East India Company

French East India Company was a commercial enterprise, founded in 1664 to compete with the British and Dutch East India companies in colonial India. For the purpose of trading in the Eastern Hemisphere. Its Capital was at Pondicherry. Several Indian trading ports, including Pondicherry and Chandernagore, remained under French control until 1954.
