COINS OF THE HINDU RULERS

During Mughal Period

(1) KANGRA

(1400-1700 AD)

A small hill state lying between the rivers Ravi and Sutlej existed from very early times. Kangra rulers perhaps issued coins of the bull and horseman type of Samantadeva during the early period. The earliest coins of this type bear the name of Rupachand as Sri Rupa on the horseman side. Sri Rupa and other kings were ruled on Kangra from 1400-1700 century AD.

(2) MEWAR

Mewar also called Udaipur Kingdom, is a region of south-central Rajasthan state in western India. It includes the present-day districts of Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand and Udaipur. The region was for centuries a Rajput kingdom that later became a princely state under the British. It was ruled by the Chattari Rajputs of Guhilot and Sisodia dynasties for over 1200 years..

(3) ASSAM

(1228-1826 A.D)

Assam have a long history, ancient to Medieval and after The Ahoms, a Tai group ruled Assam for nearly 600 years (1228–1826 A.D) They were in the time of Muslim period.

(4) COOCH BIHAR

(1400-1700 A.D)

The first important Koch ruler was Biswa Singha, who came to power in 1510 or 1530 CE. Under his son, Nara Narayan, the Kamata Kingdom reached its zenith. Nara Narayan’s younger brother, Shukladhwaj (Chilarai), After the death of Nara Narayan in 1584, Raghudev declared independence, and the kingdom ruled by the son of Nara Narayan, Lakshmi Narayan, came to be known as Cooch Behar.
